I love the dresses in 1, 2 and 3...7 won't happen because I think that's a little much for a beach...and 10 makes me want to go get married right now!!! Just a simple little white sundress!!! :)

I don't know how dedicated you are to the idea of a long dress, but I think you would look rocking in a shorter knee length dress, and then you wouldn't get sand all over the hem...just a thought. That long train definitely looks like a bad idea
I love those strapless dresses but when I went to david's bridal to try some on, they all made me look like a linebacker cause my shoulders are so wide (well I didn't think they were that wide...until I tried on those dresses!) sigh...
georgi
04-10-2009, 12:24 PM
Yeah, I have wide shoulders too, which upsets me because I like how strapless dresses look in all those above pictures. Hmph. Hut hut HIKE! :cheerleader: :lmao:

Strapless dresses have been all the rage for a while. It takes the perfect frame to pull them off. Big boobs- OUT. Broad shoulders - OUT
but there are ways to get strapless and make it look good ; try going for a sweetheart neckline or off the shoulder or you can add capped sleeves that you can add or remove...
My boobs would look like ginormous shelf big enough to rest a guinness on if I tried to wear a straight cut strapless gown.

organza seems like it suits your personality and the beach! :D
or do something like this if you wanted a spring or late summer beach wedding...in case you got cold :)
http://www.brides.com/images/vendor/dressgallery/bridal/lesposedigio/00_main/n5_primary.jpg
I also think this is perfect:

http://www.brides.com/images/vendor/dressgallery/bridal/destinationromance/00_main/dr164_primary.jpg
this is what I mean by capping the sleeves. I love this dress:
http://www.brides.com/images/vendor/dressgallery/bridal/lazaro/00_main/3815_primary.jpg
you could also do an asymetrical top. You will probably hate this, but I think it's fabulous.

I love the 3rd one from jcrew.. that one seems so perfect for a laid back beach wedding.. but so girly, you still feel bridal..
it almost reminds me of the sister's dress from 27 Dresses (the one she cuts up the mother's wedding gown to make)

That one is really pretty. :) I like ones that have beadwork! I keep liking ones where you can get a different color sash or the underneath thingy...crinoline or whatever it is (I know lots of you in here know...I'm new to this. :funny1: )I'm not sure about the "sleeves", though. I still want to try on strapless dresses when the time comes just to see how they look. I also like thin straps (not spaghetti thin, but not really thick ones).

Same here!! It's gorgeous on the model but if it's too revealing and uncomfy then it wouldn't work well.

My mother has a beautiful pale green hydrangea bush in the back yard. It was a cutting from my great-grandparents' house. The thing is about six feet tall and blooms like crazy.
Other hydrangeas she has are tiny and don't bloom as much. Hmm....
But yeah, they're picky little buggers!

There are tips to taking care of them (dead-heading at certain times, chopping them down low to encourage new growth, adding acidic nutrients, etc) but when I have a plant, I want it to do what it's supposed to do. "LOOK PRETTY, DAMMIT!" ;)
