Ok....I'm doing South Beach and I made special black bean brownies from a website I found. These brownies are not as good as the original recipe I had so I was a LITTLE (I need my chocolate fix) disappointed with them.
Last night I took a teaspoon full of natural peanut butter and plopped it on top of the brownie. Oh....it was wonderful. :clapping:

Were did you find that recipe? I just googled it but nothing great came up.
Are black beans really ok on low carb or just the south beach version of low carb? It is SOOO hard to do veggie low carb and beans are sooooo iffy!
I love black bean brownies when I am not low carbing, but wondering if I can do them with some stevia low carb??

There is a link to Allrecipes.com. The black bean brownies aren't the BEST tasting but they sure do kill my chocolate cravings.
I had gotten a South Beach recipe for the same brownies made with ricotta cheese. Apparently South Beach allows you to eat legumes and I read somewhere that the black beans were the best. Here is a link to all of the South Beach recipes I found:

These weren't as good as the first ones.

are you draining the liquid from the black beans, for me that made a huge difference the juice makes it taste a little weird but if you drain them, then I found there is no black bean flavor.

Yeah, I drain and rinse the beans. The sludge that forms in the bottom of the bean cans really creeps me out. I make sure my beans are clean.
The SB recipe almost tasted a little burned to me. I know the brownies were cooked just right but the flavor, I don't know, it was a little off compared to the recipe from Allrecipes. I did find that dropping a spoonful of natural peanut butter on top did the trick. Oh, so so yummy.
