Thanks for the link! I've been checking out capecodweddings.com, too. :)

We still really like a clambake/bbq idea. Decisions decisions! :funny1:

Obviously and of course, hydrangeas. I will have bare feet. Rich can wear linen. :bliss: Pretty beach cake!!! (Gluten-free top layer of course. :funny1: )

I want to make my favors and invitations!!! So many ideas!!!

So yeah...first we buy a house, then we'll plan the wedding. Plenty of time. :woot:

Aww, thanks everybody!

So, a local news station is giving away a free wedding valued at $40,000. I'm tempted to enter, but at the same time, I can't picture myself having a $40,000 wedding. The other catch is the public votes on the food and honeymoon destinations, AND it will be broadcast on television. I don't think this really sounds like Richard and myself, but how fun would that be? :funny1:

That would be fun. I could totally do a 40K wedding.

After my wedding costs, I can see 40K NOT BEING A PROBLEM AT ALL!!!

God it adds up so damn quick.

Come on girl... do you have any round about time it may be?

georgi
03-31-2009, 10:00 AM
I can't even talk in a meeting of 10 people, let alone have myself plastered all over the news. :lmao: I'd probably piss in my dress! :lmao:

We were thinking maybe spring of next year? Or fall of next year. Not really sure. It all depends on the house buying. We really want to be out of our condo by the end of summer, so that would leave us a few months to save and plan.

I'm still down for a destination wedding, but my Mother won't fly. Hmph.

I could spend 40k on a wedding in the blink of an eye, hell I could double it in two blinks. :lmao:

While I don't want a small wedding, I prefer a bigger party with LOTS of friends and family, there's no way I could handle tv cameras, and I KNOW that Stephen couldn't.

Stephen wants a destination wedding, but my family can't afford that, and having family with me is important. If it were a destination, it would be destination Tahoe or destination Telluride.

it would be nice to have an all-expenses paid wedding (you could do $40k EASILY. it's scary) but i wouldn't want to have to share my day w/ the media. blech!

Wende
03-31-2009, 12:05 PM
I'm only sharing my day with YOU.

Awww, it's so freaking close.

georgi
03-31-2009, 12:11 PM
Yeah, that I think is kind of stupid. Just what I want is everybody and their grandmother watching my wedding. Meh, it would be fun to have everything free, but yeah, that part of it stinks. Rich thinks we should see if the Big E is doing the wedding on the midway this year. :funny1: We'd so win that one from the eating pictures alone.

Wende
03-31-2009, 12:14 PM
You're funny.

YOu better get plannin mama. Gotta set a date and go with it. Just have everyone do soemthing for you to make it less expensive. I had everyone asking. So I deligated all the expenses out. We are lucky I guess. Cape cod huh? On the beach? Sorry i'm anxious for ya.

georgi
03-31-2009, 12:18 PM
Yes, ideally I want to do Cape Cod on the beach, and so does Rich. It would be perfect. We could do it on a Saturday, so we'll all go down Friday night. Rich and I would stay in our house, maybe rent a house or 2 for parent's and friends, and there are a bunch of motels and hotels down the street, so people could stay there. The clam bake/bbq things we have looked at will come and set everything up. Our yard at the house isn't level, so tables wouldn't work there, and Rich doesn't want tables on the beach, because he thinks that would be a production. The guest list...Oy. I don't even know.

Wende
03-31-2009, 12:19 PM
It'll all come to you.

So, you have a house on the beach?

georgi
03-31-2009, 12:30 PM
Yeah, my Great Aunt bought a beach house for the family to use because she wanted us all to have a place to go and have fun.

So far on our beach, my brother and cousin have gotten married, and I got engaged and want to get married on it. :) It holds so many special memories. Aunt Connie would be so happy to know all of this.

Seriously, Georgi...between this forum, Tatum and I...you dont need a wedding planner. :funny1:

I have piles of magazines. You should come down for a weekend and go through them and make your inspiration board.

When we went to the grocery store later in the day after he proposed, I made a funny and grabbed all the wedding magazines and held them and flipped through them and was shrieking. He looked scared. :lmao: (I was totally joking. I'll at least wait another week or 2 before looking at a magazine. :funny1: )

Do you have your condo up for sale? I didn't know you were looking at houses.

Hey lady! Thank you!!!

We don't have it up for sale yet. We're in the process of talking to Rich's cousin (she's a realtor), and she's telling us the stuff we have to do to get it ready. I'm collecting boxes from work and we're going to start boxing shit up (and throwing shit out!). So excited! I've fallen in love with so many cute houses...I can't wait until we go look at them and move into one! :bliss:

I'd love to do a destination wedding. I think a cruise with our families would be fun. They have chapels onboard, but I'd love to do it on a beach in St. Maarten or something. :)

I've always wanted a small wedding. I'm not one to be "center of attention", so I can't really picture myself doing the whole big huge wedding, with the dj and the dancing and the "look at me in the center of the floor" type of thing. (A festival is one thing. :funny1: ) I'd much rather have a nice house and a small wedding. :)

We were making a list just to see what the number would be like, and even after keeping it to just close family and friends...it's still at like, 60.

At least we have plenty of time to figure it out since we're focusing on the house first. After we are settled in with that, then we will figure out more. I think we are still looking at 2010, though!!! :Phishfolk:
