Umm, what are your thoughts on rehearsal? The wedding party is going to be two groomsmen and two bridesmaids plus the bride and groom. Is it necessary to have a rehearsal for something so small? The wedding will be in the evening so there is a chance we could round everyone up and do a quick run through ahead of time.
Also, I'm trying to save money on this whole thing. Is a rehearsal dinner always expected? The whole wedding is going to be a laid back/outdoorsy type of thing.
Thanks!

I think it's important to at least do one run through before the wedding- just to make sure you know when to walk down the aisle, where to stand etc. (especially if it's not in a typical church setting).
We had a very nice BBQ at a rented pavilion in a park for our rehearsal dinner. It was great b/c it was so low key and we invited everyone who was in town. It's a really nice way to get together with people before the wedding day when you're SO busy trying to talk to everyone!! The night before is a really good chance to actually talk to some of your closest guests.

His family offered to pay for it, but we figured it was going to be such a big deal to get everyone there. Most of us live over an hour away, so they are paying for the flowers instead. So we opted out of having it.
It'll all fall into place. I'm a little nervous not having one. But who cares what happens. It'll all be alright even if my daughter walks backwards.

we're not having one, but we're also not having any bridesmaids or anything. Once we figure out the ceremony we will probably practice it at home. :)

I will be making out an *itinerary* to give to everyone involved. The last rehearsal dinner we were involved in lasted a total of 15 minutes and cost the grooms parents over a 1000 bucks.
But it is a good time for the bride and groom to give the party gifts and to say some thank you's.

we did a quick run through on the beach the morning of the wedding, it took about 15 minutes. we didn't do a rehearsal dinner b/c his family couldn't get there until the day of the wedding (not that we would have asked them to pay for it, and we couldn't afford it either). the night before we met up with my family and whoever else was there for dinner and drinks, but everyone paid for their own.

We did a quick run through at our location and then went back to my house for a cookout. It was fun, lots to drink and happy times.. Didn't cost too much, everyone wanted to chip in with food, so we let them!!

THANK YOU, Everyone! I think we'll do a little dinner the night before just to get together (and have everyone pay for their own food). The day of we'll do a quick run through. Makes the most sense to me. :)
