How does the new post function work?

sometimes I post something and then hit the new posts button and the thread I was just talking in will not even be on the screen. Their will be threads that are like fifteen minutes older ontop of it. Just curious as to how it works.

Well if you were just in the thread and then you click "New Posts" That thread wont show up again till someone makes a new post in it.... Also in "quick links" you can click "mark all posts read" and that clears all the new posts out of the cashe and when you click new posts only truly new posts will show up.

So if I post in the thread and see the post get added. THen click new posts will it not come up as a new post?

Nope because you have already viewed it when you typed it...

If you wanted to search for all your post's you can click search>advanced search> then put your user name or anyones user name in the box on the right and click search and then you can see all the threads you posted in, in the format of clicking New Posts.
