once the crib became a place of danger instead of a place of safety .. all over.

I wonder the same thing.. Gabe hasn't tried *yet*... But I am needing to get prepared in case that day is soon. Our bedrooms are on the third floor with a very steep stairway

Cate came out at 18 mos - about 6 weeks before Jess was born. Jess came out around 20 mos. She started climbing out & asking for a big girl bed (like her sister)

she's 23 months - her room was redecorate, toddler bed in place - she loves it - but doesn't stay in - which is fine - im not 100% ready either - by end of the night i end up cribbing - but i feel the transition will be soon as she really likes the bed . . . im just nervous.

1. stairs... so i'll have to gater her room or the staircase (both)
2. she sleeps well now . . . i dont wnat to interupt
3. she's my baby :(

Aidan was 2yrs and 3 months (he outgrew it)

Karys was 3 and 6 months (We got a king size bed, gave Aidan our Queen and she got his single)

I'm dreading the day when Maya figures out how to get out of her crib. So far she has stayed in it (surprisingly enough!!) and not tried to climb out. We have a gate already at the top of the stairs so we'd just have to close it every night.

I'm a little nervous b/c baby #2 will need the crib around October, and I'm hoping Maya is done with it by then so I don't need to get another one.

there was no room for me,so it was the couch for me.

I always invite them into the bed with us - but then after an hour or so of being kicked I put them back in their beds...

Last night around 4am I asked my 4 year old if she wanted to come in the 'big bed' with mommy....she was like 'no':lol:

we put our futon on the floor and put a smaller foam mattress next to it. plenty of room for the 3 of us. if i had more than one small kid at a time, it would have been a whole bedroom floor full of bed ;) the floor is great too since you don't have to worry about anyone falling out of bed :)

i would have never gotten any sleep if they slept with me full time. miss e ended up in bed with me almost every morning anyway ... until she left last year at 16

mmm we are a family bed clan as well...we have a crib in the corner for keeping clean laundry from ending up on the floor..works well:)
