 Worst mother of the year. I went and woke her up for school this morning and she's like "Oooo, yay, lets see what the toothfairy left" Only to find her tooth still sitting there.
I quickly made up some story about how perhaps the cat chased her away and she should just keep trying.

I did that ONCE with hiding easter eggs. IT SUCKED. My husband had to occupy them upstairs while I quickly hid them.

Stupid traditions.

Heh heh heh blame the cat. Works for farts too.

My son pointed out that he didn't get anything for the second tooth he lost. I think he forgot to put it under his pillow, or maybe the cat took it.

One time when my younger daughter lost a tooth I didn't have any cash around, so I put a bottle of ketchup under her pillow.

a bottle of ketchup?!! that's the best!!! i would have LOVED a bottle of ketchup as a kid!!

Wende, just give something tonight that would make sense for a busy tooth fairy to give. maybe not only the regular $ your were going to leave, but also some coins from another country - that way it shows that she was really busy but also super thoughful?

my aunt always forgets and i feel bad for her daughter, we blame it on maddy not sleeping in her own bed though, and then the day she did put it under her bedroom pillow she didn't tell anyone, so we blamed it on me sleeping in her bed

AWE don't worry

My daugther just lost her first tooth, woke up and the money got shuffled around during the night. We don't do the Santa/Tooth Fairy thing so she started yelling that I forgot. It was funny. Then she reminded me of when I forgot for my niece once and then tried to trick her. I can't believe she remembers that

Just tell her the tooth fairy is booked and sometimes it takes two nights. Then make up for it with a $20

She thought it was funny, but then she wouldn't let any of us use it.

My mom used to suck at being the tooth fairy. Once when my brother was 5 or 6, she forgot 3 nights in a row

He was so pissed he threw his tooth in the garbage! The tooth fairy left hin $5 by the garbage that night. (30 years ago this was big money):funny1:

I'm pretty sure he's over it

Once I did that and while he was at school, I went up there and put the money under the pillow in the way way back... and when he went to bed that night, reminded him to check to make sure the tooth was still there and he lifted the pillow and found the money and the tooth and we laughed about how forgetful the fairy was for leaving the tooth behind...

I was going to suggest something like that. You could leave the money under the bed and say it must have fallen on the floor, or do just what Kimmy did.

I am actually going to have fun with this. I"m going to make a tiny little note and tape it to her ceiling reading, "Help, kitty likes me"

We had a very tricky toothfairy. She would leave money under the bottom sheet, or in the pillow case, certainly not the first place the kids looked.

I used to take a little glitter and make a trail from the window.... so once my little one was sleeping over my sisters house when she had lost a tooth that day. My sister was so excited she was gong to get to be the tooth fairy! I gave her the glitter.... duh she dumped almost the entire tube! She still complains about how long it took to clean up the glitter! Non moms don't know a little itty bit of glitter goes a LONG WAY!
