You may know the answer to this, Sunny. When addressing the response cards, you're supposed to address it to who is hosting the wedding, right? I'm going to print those out but I want to make sure I don't screw it up. :)

I think that's how "proper etiquette" says it should be. So if parents are hosting, they should be addressed to them. We're saying screw etiquette and addressing them to ourselves.

I knew you'd know ;).

I'll address them to my parents but I'll open them all myself. He he he...

Yeah, my parents don't care either way. I think our invites will say, Travis and Tiffany along with her parents blah blah blah

i was in Michaels last night and i LOVE the new DIY invites ("Brides" brand) they are carrying these days.

I GOT Bride's brand! I also got thank you cards, same brand, about 5 months ago for $5 on the clearance shelf. SCORE! Hahaha...and they all tie in with my Autumn theme. Love it.

Here is what I got:

Don't be nervous. Did your kit come with an online template? If it did, make sure you print out a few test runs on plain paper (cut to the size of the invitations) before you print on the good stuff.

Once you think you have your perfect invitation ready to go....proof-read it for spelling/grammatical or alignment errors, have someone else proof-read it...then put it down for at least an hour and forget about it. This way when you go back, if there is anything missing, you'll be more likely to notice.

I might also suggest looking on line at samples of invitations. Maybe you'll see something in one that you want in your own. I for one failed to put the YEAR of my wedding on the invitations. Hahaha...oh well. It's going to be a small wedding and everyone who is invited knows it's this year. :funny1:

Mine came with a template but the font was not the same as the sample invitation and the spacing where our names go was lop-sided. Good thing I took Graphic Arts in school...it helps to have an eye for crap like that ;).

excellent advice. I am going to leave it mostly up to him, other than you know, the girl stuff, like the font and sayings. Our wedding is small too so if we forget anything, they'll understand. 25 invites are going out total.

I think we are going to actually send them out soon. Like, begining of March.
