I guess this is mainly geared towards you miss sunny....what did you choose for your cake? I did Chablis with buttercream frosting and fresh strawberries in the middle. I'm so glad I didn't have to go with something like Fondant, I really do not like the taste of that stuff. Blech. But I guess some people have to have it because of it keeping. Mine will only be out for about an hour or so.

I like white cake with white frosting. IT's my favorite. mmmm, I want some right now.

We went with a 3 tiered chocolate cake with strawberry filling and buttercream frosting. The top layer is going to be elevated and made vegan so I can eat it too :) I guess she'll be using criso or something really fattening for my frosting

No fondant for us either. We're not saving the "anniversary" layer so there's no need. It's just for decoration anyway :)

The base of each layer is going to have light brown and lilac ribbon going all around it with some lilacs here and there.

That sounds so pretty!

I love the way fondant looks, but I hate the way it tastes!

Yea, it's surprisingly nasty.

Todd's sister had hers out of fondant last year and I remember looking around at everyones faces when they bit into it. There were soooo many pieces of cake with only a couple bits out of it, left on the tables. BLECH!

Sunny, seriously, it sounds lke you and I have very similar tastes. From color to strawberries... love it!!

Fortunately for me, my mother is going to make our cake. She's made wedding cakes in the past and they come out cute.

We also were going to go with fondent until I tasted it. UGH! I want buttercream without a doubt.

As for style, I'm still not sure what we want. I know the inside we want white or yellow cake with a raspberry or strawberry bizmark type filling. Mmmmm.

mmmmmm, yea, I was torn between raspberry or strawberry. I stuck with the strawberry.

I know what my perfect cake is, but I have no idea what flavor I want it to be. Hmm.

That's Rich's favorite cake. :funny1:

Honestly, if that's what he wanted, I'd do it. I really don't care. Those crunchies are too delicious to resist! :funny1:

My perfect cake has a beach theme. Little adirondack chairs on the top. Some shells. Maybe a little fence, like protecting the dunes...and sand. ;)

Hydrangeas, bare feet, not a lot of people, clam bake...:bliss:

Can you tell I want to get married on the beach? :funny1:

P.S. This is exactly what I want:
