View Full Version : it's cat city on my back deck!
so limpy, my stray, has been missing for awhile. forest was talking to my neighbor the other day and found out that the the limp abandoned us for the comfort of my neighbors garage! she always has fed strays, as we do.
so now we have ash, a gray boycat (ash is forest's name, i call him "grayboy") with yellow eyes who has been a regular now for a couple of weeks. he's tame enough that i can actually pet him which is a good sign because that means i can eventually lure him into the carrying cage for a de-balling session at the vets ;)
right now there is a huge fluffy cat out back that i've seen all over the neighborhood. he/she has yet to actually eat while i'm watching but i know this cat is probably fine as i see it at all the neighbors houses and it looks healthy.
this morning there was a beautiful small cat, very skittish, on the back porch... not brave enough to come close enough to eat (the food bowl is right outside the back door.) but maybe soon.
i need to buy stock in cat food
i am destined to be one of those crazy cat ladies....

Full blown cat lady part still pending. :funny1:
ok, it's really been difficult to get a photo of them all together because we all know how cooperative cats are!
here are the two orange cats (red & tiger) with ash. he *was* also on the hot tub until right before i took the picture...

They all look right at home.
Your back yard looks like what we have around there parts.
i love my back yard! it's kind of wild (notice the encroaching blackberries) but it's pretty private with several very old cedar trees.

Awwwwww so cute!!! <3
Last night there was a kitty in our backyard on the stonewall. I went outside and called it, and Rich said Tuna was meowing like a maniac in the doorway. He was all sorts of jealous.

I feed 8-10 strays daily and I must admit, I love them all. Of course I named them all too! One in particular (OK maybe 3) I would not hesitate to adopt if I could.

oh; ash is gorgeous.
so... ash is not hanging out anymore, now it's just the small, really beautiful cat. we thought it was a girl and we were calling her "pretty" because, well, she's beautiful! so "she" finally let me get close enough to look and i'm 99% sure he's a neutered male (he's a semi-long hair so it was impossible to be 100% sure at 1st glance :funny1: ) when we found out he wasn't a she, lawrence started calling him "pretty boy floyd" who was a bank robber in the 30's
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pretty_Boy_Floyd
floyd is probably our cat. he has come inside a few times and will sit outside in lawrence's lap for a long time. tiger didn't really like him at first but they seem to be fine now. most importantly, luna is ok with him  because luna is the senior cat. she prefers "queen".
i'm going to take floyd in to my vet and see if he is chipped. also going to call the paper today and put a "found" ad in. if someone took the trouble to have him fixed, someone might just be looking for him. he's been on his own for awhile though, gotten into a fight and was wicked skinny a week ago (we're slowly fattening him up)...
i keep telling the guys to not get attached to the strays but this one, i think, is becoming attached to us

awww... what a cutie. he looks - sensitive. you're going to have to paint him orange and white though. :funny1:
 he has a tiny bit of orange mixed in so he can stay ;)
he's very sensitive and a total sweetheart! no one answered the "found" ad so we'll be taking a trip to the vet here soon :)
someone is now feeling very at home!
