View Full Version : Why is this required?

While trying to disable some options in my User CP > Edit Options I keep receiving this error message. The result of not having this enabled is my changes don't get made.

A required field called Panic Button - URL Jump is missing or has an invalid value.

I have panic button option disabled (Off) already, so why is a "URL Jump" address even required?

Maybe this will help get a response.

Pic #1 - as the picture shows, I have the panic button turned off.

Pic#2 - yet it is required if I want to disable, or change the other settings.

So the solution is to just enable the panic button & provide any old jump URL. Now I understand why it's required to edit my user options. /sarcasm

Thanks.

I have a button in the bottom right that looks like this http://gatheringofthevibes.com/forum/images/misc/panic.gif. I went to user settings and it's now enabled.

I'm still curious to why having this enabled is required to edit my user settings.

it isnt, you can turn it off if you want. just when you were on the setting page of the UserCP and you tried to save something on that page you got the error because you didnt have a http:/ /www .what ever .com in there...

I didn't turn it on either, but it's on and I get the same error when I try to turn it off. Thanks though, at least I was able to disable the other things I didn't want & I'm starting to get used to it. Although I still hit it now & then when going to quote someone which is rather annoying.
