Jam on some Dead Songs--Nassau County NY?

I play bass and I live in Nassau County, Long Island. I've been playing bass for about 15 years now (I just turned 40). I get together fairly regulalry with some friends and we play "normal" songs , but I would really love to jam out on some Grateful Dead tunes. It's been wayy too long since I have.

Anyone in the area or close by feel like doing some jammin'? I've got a fairly long list of Dead songs I already play, and the chords for the rest :P

sir I failed playin the recorder in elemantary school...I have some friends in a Band (Blind Squirrels - not fabulous but OK) and they do play some Dead...I can ask if they wouldn't mind letting you jam with 'em when they practice or something less scheduled.

I can PM you (with a phone# or 2) if they (or just a few of 'em) wouldn't mind partaking in a jam session...you may be able to teach them something as well.
