Republicans more charitable than Dems?

There may be many causes for this... Republicans may tend to be wealthier so they use charitable donations as a tax deduction or can better afford to give, or Republicans are more likely to go to church and giving money to your church is considered giving to a charity.

I question whether or not the notion Repubs are richer is valid. I think that is a outdated idea. There are a lot of rich Dems out there too.

i find the record of philanthropy in the U.S. to be outstanding compared to Canada.
i wonder if it is due to the perceived safety net up here...or could be we are just cheap.
if it is a product of the welfare state maybe republicans have a political need to give, as it is not a desired role of gov't?
up here though Conservatives are just as cheap as Liberals
and the NDP don't have any money

the Democratic party should be viewed as the peoples standard. The Republican party has the ability to be the party of change. When the change is unneeded any further the Democratic party is there to be the back bone of the countries needs again.

Viola! a balance on the level of the federal level. The local level is different depending on population and economics it adapts and changes much faster. So a certain part of the country can really suffer when it becomes corrupted by greedy individuals. Thats why you see all these federal stings on local corruption. In these cases the people can and should be prepared to emigrate to another city county or state.
