My future in-laws hired their family friend photographer. He's not exactly what I would have chose, but he is sentimental. My golly I never knew photographers were so much money. I don't want him to come to where I am getting ready. It's basically just my daughter and friend that is going to be there. There will be no dances, there will be no throwing of bouquets, no recession line, no chapel, no whatevers...
I'm just venting.

I'm with you Wende. My personal choice is to get ready alone or with my sisters. We don't want a photographer, a first dance, I'm not carrying a bouquet, or wearing a veil, etc. Folks keep trying to convince of all that I should do when all I want to do is have a quiet, intimate ceremony with just me, JP and an officiant.
I think tradition is lovely and I've been to beautiful weddings that incorporate all of the traditions, it's just not for me.

A photographer should get together with you to determine what sort of approach they will take with your wedding. It is your day and a photographer should listen to your ideas, thoughts and concerns. If you don't want photos of you getting ready beforehand, don't. You make the call. He/She will figure out what sorts of things to shoot and you will probably appreciate the small details down the road :)
