I have a 2002 Jetta wagon that I locked the keys in a while back.
AAA was unable to unlock the door, even though the thing he slid through the door was pushing down on the button. Something about it being a "VW thing".
Anybody know what's up with that?

i only know that my wife's jetta likes to lok the keys in automatically if we start it to warm it up in deep winter days, so she needs 2 sets of keys if I'm heading to work when I start it. Those key fobs are $260! Ouch!

I am not sure about the locks on a Jetta either...
But my wifes car locks automatically when running and I had to break into once.
Now I always roll the window down a little just in case when I start it. Autolocks+hippys=disaster
A spare key is a good idea!

Ouch, that sucks!
Thats why I have onstar. I just call the 1800 number and give them password and they unlock the car for me at no charge.

On Star? What's that. I can only call darkstar when my VW needs help!
