oh man.. I've never (knock on wood) had a cold sore.. My mother has gotten them since a kid tho every time she gets sick... try abreva? I think that's the name of the stuff she uses

it was a really fun day actually. no worries about the cold sore .. sort of forced us to take it slow. maybe a blessing in disguise

As far as your cold sore goes I've found the best thing is Eco-Lips chapstick. Abreva isn't that good, and it's super expensive. I've only found Eco-lips at a co-op, and it was like $5 for the tube, but it worked so fast. You can also take Lysine pills to help it go away, and once it's gone take one a day to prevent a future cold sore.

I've had so many cold sores in my life and they really suck!!

thanks FR .. :) .. i also have lysine which works too .. i guess the whole notion is to dry out the sore asap and keep it dried out so it doesn't grow
