Do you use one?

Before or after your other pedals? I'm thinking of getting one, and could use some suggestions. I am thinking of getting a Keeley or Ross Clone, and putting it after my other pedals.

I don't use one, but i think you have the right idea my friend. Compression will help gate the hissy sounds.

I use a simple mxr super comp before i use it as a rythem boost it also sets a subtlety to the overdrives i have that follow

i built my own compressor, and it prolly sounds better than most you can buy (keeley and ross excluded)

mine is right after all my distortion pedals.

I have an mxr compressor, always on, "regulates" my levels...one of my pedals ( a hendrix wah type thing) gets excessively hot unless I have the compressor right. I have it last in the chain, except for my new mxr analog delay which is now last, because with the compressor after it, the analog effect gets muddied and cruddied.:funny1:..compression is a game changer

Thanks all, this is just what I was wanting to hear. I want to use it for what both Mudd and Willis are saying, to regulate my other pedals.

Plus, I think i could turn down the guitars volume and tone to change the guitars sound (less crunch), without changing what volume comes out of the amp... right?
