Joker would get everyone parked right, but I wouldn't want him to get killed. No getting killed for Dan, either, please. :) He'd cover it well for Vibes radio, though.

I would think that those who feel so deeply about the issues would volunteer.

Volunteer to what, change this Israeli govt. from within? Speaking for myself only, no military will take me (epilepsy). I realize you weren't specifically posting to me, and I don't usually get into what I do politically off the boards on here, but rest assured, I'm doing what I can, where I am, with what I have. Which unfortunately doesn't feel like much, very often, due to the patriarchal nature of middle-eastern cultures and me having a vagina. I wish Clinton luck as secretary of state, but I think her crotch will get in her way, politically. That's just the way things are there, and that's also due in part to the religious right having a great influence on the region's governments.

I did notice that Jordan is getting hip to the notion that people in Western cultures may take words from a woman in a political arena seriously and sent their queen to speak publicly (it might've been at the U.N. I don't remember).

On a more local level (there is a thread on this board with info re: last Sunday's protests), there are some folks with decent ideas who need some clues/public administration education. For example, you rally for peace, you don't protest for peace (general you). And using obscene words alienates potential supporters. This is one area in which I can locally toss in my two cents, and I did mention wording choices to a friend of the guy behind it (that friend has known me since I was 12, and I have done freelance work for her, and she's in publishing, so hopefully that guy respected her words with open ears, if she passed them on).

In the meantime, local action means getting my cast off on Thursday and learning to walk again so I can help my mom and grandma out after my mom's knee surgery on 2/2. And finding a job, now that I will hopefully be off of crutches. I can't wait until I can stop using them. And to shave my leg and wash my foot! :jam:

I'll take a free roundtrip ticket to Ben Gurion Airport, sure.

Don't think I'd make it to Gaza though

Sarah B, everyone who cares should do the most they can, to the best of their abilities. Really can anything more be asked of anyone?

For my current level of caring, I pray for world peace....I don't believe in wars or fighting.
