Every time I get real sick I wind up getting a yeast infection.
I have talked to some girls who say yes that happens to them.
I man just told me that it is not a common thing.
I wonder if it is because I have already had cervical cancer that my body just can't fight off the bacteria properly.
Please give me some insight...

So the doctor just ran some test and believes that the problem I have is related to an imbalance of my body chemistry.
So i have to change a bunch of things and take a bunch of medicine but it should clear up and not happen again!!!
That is a big relief

i was going to say, i'm no expert but you may have already a yeast problem, like candida and being sick just aggravates it.

If you have a pH "balance"/something is "off" issue, so to speak, down there (in your vagina), and whatever your doctor gives you doesn't help/work for you, there is a Chinese Dr. (3rd generation TCM* gynecology specialist) in Syosset with inexpensive ($30) clinic hours who can prescribe herbs to fix that. (If anyone else reading this is not on Long Island and you run into an issue like this, an acupuncturist with training in herbs should be able to help. That goes for issues that are not necessarily yeast infections, too.)

Hasn't happened to me but I've had many friends get yeast infections when they were put on antibiotics for another illness.

i've never had one either. i thought i did, a few weeks ago, but it was just an allergic reaction. i treated it for nothing and actually made it worse...my RN sister got a good chuckle out of THAT story
i'm sending you happy vag vibes, GM. it's impossible to feel yourself when your body is out of whack and rebelling against you. take the cues it's sending you and don't stop until you find balance.

I hope you're feeling better.
Penicillin and some other antibiotics get a similar reaction in me...hate it, hate it. I'm on Levaquin (an antibiotic) right now for pneumonia and hoping to avoid other problems by faithfully eating a little yogurt everyday while taking this.

totally!! antibiotics->yeast infection, for me, every time!! my friend actually suggested (random that this came up in conversation today) taking acidophilus (also found in yogurt) pills to prevent against the mighty yeasty. SO annoying!

So my doctor and I have figured out the issue.
I have been using the nuva ring for the past two years.
The first year it was the best thing since slice bread.
As the second year progressed that is when the problems have started.
The ring changed my body chemistry.
It caused yeast infections and many other side effects including making my body toxic to itself.
I warn against this form of birth control.
I have been off of it for two months now and my body is almost back to normal.
No more yeast infections, no more weird discharge and other girly issues.
I share this to warn others against this problem!!
