Just got back from 3 days of camping with my son on Lower Saranac Lake. Great time heading up through the locks to Middle Saranac. Love that river system!

His camera skills are pretty good. He even made that tiny smallmouth look pretty good!
You may notice the lack of sunshine pics... :funny1:
but I'll not :joker:

not really an option in the Adirondacks...especially this July...seems more like April for some reason...
we did play some cards under there.

Very cool. I love the Adirondacks. Nice bass, too!

I'm heading up to the Lake Placid area in a couple of weeks for a full week of living in a tent, along with a kick-ass lacrosse tournament!

Seeing your pictures just gets me all the more stoked!

God's country for sure.

We always eat at Tail o' the Pup outside Saranac (on the way to Placid) on our way home. Great BBQ, lobster, guiness, outdoor dining often with live music!

That and Casa del Sol are my favorites up there (when not dining al fresco at the camp site that is).

Have a great laX tourney!

The Pup always has a food booth set up at the tournament fields, and a few of my teammates stay at the campground just behind the Pup so I know it well. Great food.

I've camped at the Notch on the other side of Placid lately and usually prefer to dine at the site with food cooked over the fire. My better half and I make a pretty good team when it comes to meals over the fire. Man ... the more I'm in this thread, the more amped I am!

Hope to get back up to the Notch in October for some foliage camping.

we had to back up for it, as my son had packed the camera in his day pack. Even with the motor running, he stayed there till we got the shot! Wish we had gotten a shot of the spiders on the upper lock dock. Creepy!
