Frozen Pie crust
Bag of frozen mixed vegetables
frozen pearl onions
frozen broccoli
gravy (your choice of fresh or store bought)
chicken ( I like dark meat...get a few legs and tights and boil them down)

-Place Pie crust in a medium deep caserole dish
-mix half bag of vegetables, some of the pearl onions, and some broccoli in the dish
-chop up meat and put in
-cover everything with gravy
-place other pie crust on top and seal
-cook on 350 for an hour

Can be made with all fresh vegetables as well
You can save the chicken stock and use it to make a Lima bean dish the next day

The Lima bean dish is easy
Put Lima beans in a crock p@t
Use the chicken stock to cover the beans
If not enough just add some water
Put two hamhocks in with the beans
Add salt and pepper to taste
Cook on low all day
Serve with fresh bread and butter

I love it too!!!
I think the key is making sure you have enough gravy in it so it is not dry.

I think the next time I go to a P@t luck i will bring that!!!

Mmm ....

I just made a chicken p@t pie the other night.

I use cream of chicken soup for a "gravy" and combine all my veggies, potatoes, and chicken with the gravy in a baking dish and pour Bisquick over the top for a crust.

Sometimes I buy the whole roasted chicken from the deli and just use that instead of cooking my own chicken.

i use the bisquick some times but put cheese on yop of it so it cooks into the top giving you a cheesy bread

I do something similar but use puff pastry on top for a crust - YUM!

I made my first Chix P@t Pie last weekend.... almost completely from scratch. just the pie crust wasn't

the sauce was so so so so good.. I added a couple other dried herbs to this recipe, but for the most part this was it: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Chicken-***-Pie-IX/Detail.aspx

SO GOOD.
