I have an 89 Westfalia as most of you know and I've been trying to do my own work on it since it's been hurting my pocket paying my VW guy. Anyway it looks pretty easy just need some tips as to how to start should I take off the band that holds it then use a flat head screw driver to easily take off thee hosses. Just wondering if anyone ever had to change one and has any tips for me. I disconnected thye plug already because it was idleing way to high and my VW guy confirmed I need a idle stabilzer. Found a used one shipped to me for $90 and the guy said it works fine and he tested it. I really got to do it because it kind of works as a choke cause here in NY, where it's cold it won't stay running unless I warm it up by lightly pressing the aclerator for about 3 minutes until it drops down to 900 rpms and runs with out me. Any tips will be appreciated :shades:
