Oh how wonderful!! Gabe is back and forth with the potty.. He goes through moments of interest and then won't go near it.. I hope in 1/2 year he'll be more consistent with being it's friend..
Go Jess Go.. (literally, but on your potty chair!!)

I'm SOOO hoping Maya is out of diapers before the baby arrives... she goes a lot at daycare and at home when she sees her little toilet seat. :)

Maya decided to go potty last night and we sat there for a while. I talked to her about going poop on the potty and I could tell she was thinking about it. I thought she might try it b/c she hasn't yet, but no go. 5 minutes later guess what was in her diaper!

That's a start though. For a few months now, Jess has been going in her diaper & telling me she has to go right after - so she might be close

oo, that is what we are doing!! I hope we are closing in on it as well, although with Gabe being a boy, I am probably doomed.. he'll never leave his diapers!

Good to hear. Lately as soon as she has gone #2 she goes and gets a new diaper, including last night. Even if I don't smell anything it's usually a pretty good sign.

I've been really lucky with Jude as far as toilet training. He's pretty much totally trained (except for an unfortunate poop accident the other day that really wasn't his fault--he exploded after eating Korean food and then Indian food! ).
I feel like I deserve to catch a break somewhere since he didn't friggin sleep through the night until he was 2 and a half!
Mama Kel--How is she doing these last few days?

It's day 3 & so far so good. I put a pull up on for nap & to leave the house & a diaper at night. She stayed dry all day yesterday, even at the children's museum. I'm thinking of ditching the pull ups during the day starting next week. :clapping:
I was very lucky with Catie too - she trained quick & young (21-22 mos).
I've waited until they've shown me they're ready. This started b/c Jess came to me Monday, said she wanted to go pee pee on the potty, I took off her diaper & she did

Lucky!!
Mine both had no desire to "train"
one day, the just started going in the potty and that was the end of diapers! ((Aidan was 3years and 3 months when it happened, and Karys was 3years and 5 months))

No kidding. They're both super motivated. Catie wanted to start at 18 mos.
I was 7 mos preggo at the time & was like NO WAY! I had to push her off for 3-4 mos.

Yay Jess!! Good for you!! Good luck with it, Kelly!!
Jack had no desire either. He turned 4 in Oct and I still have to remind him all day long to go. He just gets so busy playing, he doesn't want to interrupt 'his' time to go potty. If he's busy playing and I don't remind him, he'll go in his pants and then immediately tell me "Mama, I went pee and poop, you have to change me." Sigh. We have a dry erase board with "XX days accident free" like you see in a warehouse! The only times he's ever interested is when we are around other children who are trained - he's a follower, for sure!!
I did a reward system as well - a star chart like at his daycare. One star for pee, 2 for poops and when he gets 10 stars, he gets a treat or a toy. He's forgotten all about that though...

Wabbit, I just saw that you asked when I started training him. It was around 8 months ago (I think). I didn't try to push him to do it. I had a little potty (free standing) and then I bought one of those soft, cushy rings that fit inside the regular toilet seat (he prefered that). I think he became fully trained at night by accident. I ran out of diapers and had no choice but to let him sleep wearing just underwear and pjs. We woke up the next morning and he was dry!
There have been a few accidents and I don't make a big deal out of it (kinda hard that day of the Korean/Indian Food fiasco!) and so far so good. He also has great pride in his Spider-man and batman underwear! Oh, one other thing, he loves to go peepee when Howie does so that was really helpful for him learning how to go standing up (and impossibly cute).
Now we're in the thick (and I mean thick!) of him learning to wipe...
