I've recently started jamming with a drummer and my 15w practice amp isn't cutting it obviously...
Anyone have any suggestions for a cheap loud amp? I've been considering not being cheap and dishing out some cash for a decent amp this time around, again, any suggestions for that route?

I used to have a Fender Blues Deluxe which I loved, but I see they've almost doubled in price in the past ten years.

I recall paying around $550 for mine.

I just bought a Feeder Blues Junior. It is 15 watts, but is loud as fuck. Loud enough to play with a drummer, a bass player, and another guitar player. The "Fat" (overdrive) channel sounds SWEET! I can't get a better crunchy tone out of any of my pedals. I have a Gretsch solid body w/ humbuckers, and a Standard Tele with singles, and both sound great out of this amp.

you can usually find a used fender deluxe for between 400-500. they're a great amp and i rarely turn mine past 2 at band practice. (it goes to 12)

A Peavey Classic 30 is a great sounding amp for the price. Check this link out, The Gear Page. It has many audio nerds and tone snobs there:

I use a Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue. At 22 watts it's plenty powerful. If you can find one for less than $600 you've found a great deal.

Does the deluxe sound good on the clean channel with pedals in front of it?

I only use the clean channel and I am very happy with it. Everyone has a different idea of what their tone should sound like but I think the deluxe is great.
I run a strat w/ chrome dome lace sensors >
Fender loop selector w/ loop a> crybaby 535Q> MXR Phase 90> TS9> TS9DX> MXR Dyna Comp> MXR Carbon Copy Delay > Tuner
loop b being my synth loop
> Fender Hot Rod Deluxe.
I love the sound I get out of it.

Awesome, thanks for the info. Got a chance to play one yesterday at Guitar Center. They sound amazing. Very close to pulling the trigger on it.
