i used to post here ALL the time - but after so many board changes, and losing so much poetry - i stopped

sure it was me that was the idiot not copying it - but i think book/lit. discussions serves poetry space just as well

whats everyone reading? im on Island Aldous Huxley, not enjoying it very much but I'm willing to stick it out. He just drags on dialog for no reason i can't escape into the book, I'm trying to figure out all the obscure words he uses to prove how smart he is, and I find it really really odd, that he so far has described like 5 different kids in various states of undress, but not a single adult, and im talking down to the kids birthmarks, weird shit ...

reading a book from mid 80s - it's a series of conversations with different writers - the best so far being truman capote and gore vidal. can't wait to get toni morrison.

a lot of inspiring thoughts - especially for the artistic types who want to create..... neat always to see how others do their craft and look at it

" The Singularity is Near" by Ray Kurzweil

I put this one down and read Tom Robbins "Skinny Legs and all" about half way through as it is theory jammed full of scientific specs and such...a little boooring! But I figure I would give it the due diligence since I started it up.

The theology of this book is facinating though...
