Mickey Hart is one of the most unique percussionists ever to beat a drum. He first became interested in the art after witnessing Nigerian drummer Babatunde Olatunji perform at his grade school. Years later, Mickey joined the Grateful Dead and transcended the conventions of rock drumming. Hart received a Grammy Award in 1999 for his groundbreaking Planet Drum release and was later issued the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007 for his work with the Grateful Dead. At the Vibes this summer, the Mickey Hart Band will be comprised of an all-star cast of amazing artists including: George Porter, Jr., John Molo, Steve Kimock, Jen Durkin and Sikiru Adepoju.
