Dickey Betts is one of the most influential guitarists of all time. He
is most famous for his stint with the seminal rock outfit, the Allman
Brothers Band. Betts joined the group in the late ‘60s as a second lead
guitarist and singer. Dickey quickly proved himself an able composer of
instrumental songs, contributing many phenomenal numbers to the ABB
catalogue, including "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" and "Revival." Betts
first solo effort, Highway Call, was completed in 1974. Dickey toured
with the ABB until mid-2000, and has since focused on his solo projects.
